04/03/2008
East Midlands Airport users are set to benefit from a new direct service to the Isle of Man.
Manx2.com will offer flights between the two airports every day except Saturdays, with online fares starting at £39 one-way, tax included.
The service was launched at East Midlands Airport yesterday (Monday, March 3rd) by TT legend Richard Quayle, who rode down the runway on an NCT Van Fit Yahama alongside the Manx2.com Metroliner aircraft as it took off for the Isle of Man.
Thousands of racing fans are attracted to the Isle of Man each year, as it is famed for its TT races.
Caroline Plant, director of marketing and communications for East Midlands Airport, commented: "We are anticipating a huge demand for the Isle of Man especially around the island's major sporting event in May.
"The launch of this new service will provide motorsport fans and holidaymakers from the region with a convenient daily service."
