Birmingham Airport announces record passenger numbersLast month saw a record-breaking number of passengers using Birmingham International Airport.

It was revealed today (Friday, March 7th) that the airport received 635,052 passengers in February, which represents the highest figure ever recorded for that month.

The vast majority of Birmingham Airport's February customers were scheduled passengers, which numbered 527,799, while charter passengers accounted for the remaining 107,253.

The airport also revealed that it had experienced a 9.2 per cent increase in passengers over the past year.

Joe Kelly, acting managing director of Birmingham International Airport, commented: "It was a record-breaking February for the airport, which is great news.

"We are delighted to have seen bmibaby launch its new route to Krakow in Poland recently, which once again increases the choice available to passengers flying from their local airport."

Scheduled routes from Birmingham that have experienced recent growth include Murcia, Faro, Geneva and Palma.
