Flybe expand Gatwick-Aberdeen summer scheduleLondon Gatwick Airport users are set to benefit from an expanded service to Aberdeen this summer.

Flybe announced yesterday (Thursday, March 6th) that it is to increase the number of flights operating between Gatwick Airport and Aberdeen, owing to the popularity of the route with English and Scottish travellers alike.

From May 2008, the regional airline will introduce two extra flights a week for its summer schedule, with one additional flight each day on Saturday and Sunday.

The expanded service will continue until the end of October, with fares beginning at £29.99 one-way including taxes and charges.

Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer for Flybe, commented: "This service has proved so popular with both our Scottish and English travellers that we've decided to offer extra flights to Gatwick on Saturdays and Sundays.

"When Flybe took over this route from BA, we pledged to grow the service and these additional flights are proof of our commitment to Aberdeen - this is Flybe listening to our customers' needs and responding accordingly."
