Eastern Airways named most punctual airline from Newcastle and Birmingham

Eastern Airways announced today (Tuesday, March 25th) that it has been named the most punctual scheduled airline departing from both Newcastle and Birmingham airports.

The regional airline was the most punctual for the second year running from Newcastle International Airport, ahead of airlines such as British Airways, Ryanair and Lufthansa.

According to figures from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), more than 90 per cent of Eastern Airways' services from Newcastle departed within 15 minutes.

Chris Holliday, chief operating officer of Eastern Airways, commented: "Punctuality is key to meeting our customers' high expectations and to be recognised again for our efforts at Newcastle and Birmingham airports is a true reflection of the tremendous endeavours of our pilots, cabin attendants and ground staff.

"We strive to provide the best service possible by setting ourselves tough punctuality targets and will always aim to continue improving our on-time performance."
