Security approval lifts one bag limit at Humberside Airport
The country - wide restrictions on the amount of hand luggage carried by air travellers no longer apply to Humberside airport.
New security arrangements at the hub have been approved by the Department for Transport.
This means a relaxation on the blanket ban on more than one piece of carry aboard baggage.
KLM operate four flights a day to Amsterdam from Humberside and the frequent flyers using the service have welcomed the change in policy.
Business passengers flying to Aberdeen with Eastern Airways have also breathed a sigh of relief.
Managing director of Humberside Airport, Rob Goldsmith, said: "We are delighted to receive approval from the Department for Transport for the new security installations.
"But, as some airlines may still retain the one-bag rule, we strongly suggest you check with your airline on the cabin baggage arrangements for your particular journey."
Some strict rules do still apply however.
Like all UK terminals, passengers using Humberside Airport are not allowed to carry any liquids or gels of more than 100mls or 100gms in their cabin luggage.
Containers of this kind must fit into one transparent, re-sealable plastic bag like a freezer bag no larger than 56cm x 25cm.
