Flyglobespan to review Teeside service
One of the UK's leading regional carriers is to review its presence at Durham Tees Valley Airport, it has been reported.
Flyglobespan is examining its services from the Teeside airport, according to the Northern Echo.
The operator's chief executive Rick Green told the paper: "Under normal circumstances, we would have the summers itinerary finalised by now. The reason we are still deciding it is that the plane flying from Durham Tees Valley reaches its end of lease life in February.
"For us, we make the decision on the economics of a new plane, the market and demand, as we know the world is in financial meltdown. However, we see a reasonable demand from Durham Tees Valley."
Durham Tees Valley Airport is located ten miles to the West of Middlesbrough and serves a number of destinations around the UK and Europe, including the popular Spanish resorts of Benidorm, Alicante and Tenerife.
