Eastern Airways has been running its Isle of Man route for five years today, it has been reported.
The carrier runs 26 services from Birmingham to the offshore island each week, on top of its flights from Newcastle and Humberside, according to Isle of Man Today.
Speaking to the news provider, Isle of Man airport director Ann Reynolds stated: "Eastern Airways' flights to Birmingham are particularly popular with the island community as the timings are perfect for day trips from the Isle of Man."
The airline was founded at Humberside Airport in 1998 and since then has developed its routes to include 15 UK airports, its website states.
Eastern Airways began offering its Birmingham to Isle of Man flights after British Airways CitiExpress cancelled its operations from the Midlands, the publication notes.
It has won various awards since its conception including the Silver Award Airline of the Year for two consecutive years in 2004 and 2005.
