Bmibaby launches Cardiff to Menora routeLow-cost airline bmibaby launched a new route from Cardiff Airport to the Spanish island of Menorca today (May 22nd).

Departing on Fridays and Sundays until the end of October, the flights are expected to carry some 13,600 holidaymakers to the popular holiday retreat over summer.

Crawford Rix, bmibaby managing director, commented: "We believe the route to Menorca from Cardiff Airport will prove very popular with families, couples and intrepid explorers alike and early bookings support this.

"The capital city Mahon is steeped in history and offers a great base from which to explore the rest of the island."

Flights will cost £36.99 one-way, including tax and surcharges.

Bmibaby recently reported that flights between Edinburgh and Cardiff have proved to be its most popular in the first quarter of 2009.

Other jam-packed routes included Birmingham to Amsterdam and Belfast to Manchester.
