Obamas touch down at Stansted AirportUS first lady Michelle Obama has paid a visit to Stansted Airport.
The president's wife landed at the Essex travel hub yesterday (June 8th) with her two daughters Malia, ten, and Sasha, eight.

Coming directly from a visit to France for the 65th anniversary of D-Day, the family was lacking its politician father and the large entourage that accompanied it during a visit to Stansted earlier this year.

The Boeing 747 American air force plane touched down at around 11:00 BST, allowing the Obamas to visit some of London's most famous landmarks, including Big Ben and Number 10 Downing Street.

Meanwhile, Birmingham Airport has been celebrating the 25th year of its terminal building.

The £29 million facility was officially opened by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on May 30th 1984.
