Aer Lingus announces winter Gatwick flightsIrish carrier Aer Lingus has announced the addition of six new routes to its Gatwick Airport winter schedule.

The airline will offer new services to Tenerife, Eindhoven, Bucharest, Lanzarote and Warsaw from October 25th, and to Lithuania from September 10th.

One-way fares will be priced between £24.99 and £49.99 and are on sale now.

Aer Lingus spokesperson Enda Corneille commented on the news: "To give our customers a greater choice in destinations, we've introduced six new routes which are popular to travellers during the winter months.

"We are still competitively priced," he added.

The operator has offered routes from Gatwick Airport to Faro, Nice, Malaga, Munich, Vienna, Zurich and Knock since setting up at the London travel hub in April.

In other air travel news, budget carrier Ryanair has launched a new scheme that will see booking confirmation details sent to passengers via text message.

A fee of one euro will allow travellers to avoid having to print out email confirmations.
