Star Alliance airlines move to terminal one at HeathrowSome five airlines have moved from Heathrow Airport's terminal two to the newly-refurbished terminal one, it has been reported.

Star Alliance carriers Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS and TAP are now operating from a new branded check-in area with self-service kiosks and a separate security line.

The group's first and business class departure lounge is also now open to top-tier travellers, guests and Star Alliance gold card holders, featuring food services, wireless internet access, showers, a children's area and two business centres.

Some 21 Star Alliance airlines now operate 187 daily flights from Heathrow Airport to 23 international countries.

Half of these carriers still operate from terminal three, including Air Canada, Air China and Scandinavian Airlines.

In other news, bosses at Luton Airport have announced the introduction of a £1 drop-off fee.

From July 1st, drivers must remain with their vehicles for no more than ten minutes before paying at the terminal's exit barrier.
