Monarch to ramp up services from Birmingham to Cyprus
Monarch has revealed it will increase services from Birmingham International Airport to Cyprus this winter.
As part of the carrier's 2009/2010 programme, two weekly flights from the Midlands to the city of Larnaca will run on Wednesday and Saturday from this October, priced at £64.99 one-way.
The airline began the route in March and has since recorded its growing popularity among British holidaymakers.
Liz Savage, managing director of Monarch flights and holidays, stated: "Over 12,500 seats have already been sold on the route this summer, which is over half of the seats we have available and we are delighted to be continuing flights this winter."
Monarch also runs flights from Birmingham to Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal.
In related news, Aer Lingus has revealed plans to increase the frequency of its services between Shannon and London Heathrow airports this year.
The airline announced yesterday (July 22nd) that it will add a third scheduled daily flight between the airports, beginning on October 25th.
