Leeds Bradford Airport to expand after council approval givenLeeds Bradford International Airport will double in size following a council vote of approval last night.

The air hub will see a £28 million investment in a terminal expansion set to include a two-storey extension, a new departure lounge and improved security, immigration and retail services.

Some 2,000 new jobs could also be created by the project.

Airport chief executive John Parkin told the Yorkshire Post: "The airport's ability to serve demand for air travel from this region demands that we upgrade and enlarge these facilities and drive up the quality of the passenger experience.

"This is really good news for the people of this region."

Leeds Bradford International Airport offers routes to more than 70 business and leisure destinations all over the world.
