Baggage handlers could cause disruption at Liverpool John Lennon Airport when they begin a strike on August 19th, it has been reported.
According to the Liverpool Echo, 150 Servisair staff balloted for the strike after the announcement of redundancies from the company.
A spokesperson for the air hub told the newspaper: "The outcome of the ballot is not yet known, so it is very difficult for the airport to comment because we don't know what action will be taken.
"But we would say to passengers - check in as normal."
A representative of the GMB union commented that the strike was agreed after 51 Servisair staff were told they must reapply for 27 positions.
Some 500,000 passengers use Liverpool Airport every summer, the publication reveals.
In related news, Ryanair recently announced that it will launch five new routes from the airport from October.
The new destinations will include Gran Canaria, Faro, Lanzarote, Rzeszow and Bratislava.
