Thomson and First Choice to introduce new mid-haul destinations
Thomson and First Choice have increased the number of mid-haul flights they offer by 11 per cent.
According to the travel companies, the increased frequency will see new summer 2010 flights from Stansted, Cardiff and Bournemouth to Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt.
The move follows statistics from Thomson that UK travellers have become more adventurous with their holiday destinations in the last two years.
"The last couple of years have seen the popularity of mid-haul destinations soar, particularly for families, who previously stuck to self catering units in short-haul destinations they knew well," Alex Loftus of Thomson and First Choice commented.
"This has been in part due to the rising cost of the euro but also due to the excellent four and five star all-inclusive resorts in these destinations," he added.
Summer 2010 will also see new flights to Mykonos in Greece, Marsa Matruh in Egypt and Montenegro.
Thomson operates services from 24 UK airports and operates 65,000 hotels in 100 international destinations.
