Bristol passenger numbers to be boosted by local festival
23/08/2009
Passenger numbers could rise at Bristol International Airport next month with the beginning of a local festival.
The Bristol Festival is scheduled to take place from September 18th to 20th and features a combination of music, sculpture, cabaret, comedy and dancing.
Located in Lloyds amphitheatre, the event will also include digital workshops and art exhibitions.
"With over 2,000 local artists and performers, seven stages, additional fringe events, ten nightclubs and multiple boat trips, this year's festival will be an entertainment extravaganza with something for everyone," a representative of the airport commented.
Passengers flying in to Bristol International will be able to enjoy the main stage, the cabaret tent, millennium square, the anchor stage, rave-on-avon and Arcadia Spectacular, a fire-breathing sculpture exhibition that made its name at the world-famous Glastonbury Festival.
The airport serves around three million travellers every year and some 7,000 aircraft movements each month, its website states.
