Icelandair resumes Glasgow to Reykjavik linkIcelandair announced the re-launch of its Glasgow to Reykjavik route yesterday (August 27th).

From September 25th, passengers will be able to take the flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with the option of connections to New York, Boston, and Seattle.

The return journey from the Icelandic capital will also stop at Manchester Airport, before continuing to Glasgow.

Amanda McMillan, managing director of the Scottish hub, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Icelandair back to Glasgow Airport, with a new schedule that not only offers convenient city breaks to Reykjavik, but also provides improved connections to the United States."

Hjorvar Saeberg Hognason, Icelandair UK general manager, added: "We are thrilled to be able to serve the Scottish community once again with our service from Glasgow."

The carrier is more than 70 years old, having first operated under the name Flugfelag Islands, its website notes.
