Jet2 pulls two Blackpool routes
04/09/2009
Jet2 has announced the closure of two routes from Blackpool International Airport, it has been revealed.
According to the Blackpool Gazette, the airline will cease operating flights from the west coast air hub to Ibiza and Mahon in Menorca in summer 2010.
In 2007, the carrier cancelled routes from Blackpool to Amsterdam and Prague due to falling passenger numbers.
The company told the newspaper: "Jet2 will no longer be operating flights to Ibiza and Mahon from Blackpool but we will continue to invest in the region by offering new flights to destinations our customers are looking for with exciting destinations announced shortly."
Jet2 continues to offer services to Malaga, Faro, Tenerife, Alicante, Palma and Murcia.
The airline announced yesterday (September 3rd) that it will begin new flights from Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle to Tunisia.
Starting from £69.99 one way, the service will link the UK air hubs with Africa's Sahara desert and numerous Roman historical sites.
