Manchester Airport has been shortlisted for three accolades at the National Customer Service Awards this year, it has been reported.
The travel hub has been nominated for best use of technology for its security improvements, front line customer service team of the year for its security team and young customer service professional of the year for external affairs worker Katy Gough.
Sarah Barrett, head of customer experience, commented: "It is great that we have become finalists in key areas of our customer service, especially as it is the first year we have entered these awards.
"This announcement shows a positive move towards us becoming a more customer-focused business and that we are dedicated to providing first class service to our customers."
The airport will be pitted against a number of other customer-focused companies across many industries.
All finalists must prepare a presentation before facing judges in October.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane in London on December 9th.
In other news, European carrier SkyEurope announced this month that it would suspend its flights from Manchester to Bratislava and Kosice.
