Air Berlin is offering a low-cost travel alternative for football fans heading to the UEFA Champions League group qualifier between Manchester United and VFL Wolfsburg on December 8th.

The German carrier is advertising return flights from London Stansted Airport to Hanover Airport for £114, including all surcharges.

Air Berlin passengers are allocated 20kg of baggage, fixed seating and complimentary food and drink.

Titus Johnson, Air Berlin UK and Ireland manager, commented: "Manchester United supporters might have been put off going to the game by the Ronaldo-style prices being charged by our rivals.

"At Air Berlin, we know all about finding great value and are by far the best-priced choice available."

Scheduled flights leave Stansted at 07:35 and arrive at 09:55 BST, while the return flights on December 9th set off at 06:30 and 07:10 local time.

The carrier also operates from Manchester and Glasgow airports, its website states.

Stansted is Britain's third-busiest airport.
