21/09/2009
Belgian carrier Brussels Airlines has confirmed a codeshare agreement with low-cost carrier Bmi, it has confirmed.
The airline will provide two services from the Belgian capital to London Heathrow and Gatwick airports from October 25th, offering seven direct daily services to Heathrow and two to Gatwick.
Since the beginning of summer, Brussels Airline has been collaborating with Bmi in offering nine new UK destinations to its portfolio, including Newcastle, Bristol and Birmingham.
The agreement sees the airline join the Star Alliance, of which Bmi is already a member.
It is hoped the scheduled services will appeal to business and leisure travellers alike, with morning and evening flights to suit all needs and the possibility of onward connections to Africa from Brussels.
The airline works in conjunction with Lufthansa to offer scheduled flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Accra and Khartoum, which began last week (September 14th).
