Ryanair releases 500,000 free seats for mid-week winter travelBy Jeremy Price.

Low-cost airline Ryanair is offering 500,000 free seats on flights taking off this winter.

The carrier has extended its offer to cover November and December, with passengers who choose to pay with Visa Electron, forego priority boarding and travel with cabin luggage only being eligible for the deal.

Availability on flights in December is good, but tickets for November travel are becoming limited.

Stephen McNamara of Ryanair commented: "Ryanair has released an additional 500,000 free seats due to the huge demand for a winter seat bargain.

"Passengers should log on to the Ryanair website today to snap up these seats and bag a bargain."

The free seats are available on flights operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

According to the airline's website, it is also offering one million seats priced at £4.99 for travel in November and the first half of December.

The deal applies to routes from London Stansted to a number of European destinations including Bologna, Dusseldorf, Belfast City, Granada and Trieste.
