A new hotel is set to be opened near Luton Airport.

The Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) will oversee the 250-bedroom hotel on Kimpton Road, which is expected to open in 2011.

Another HGI facility opened on Butterfield Business Park near the air hub last year.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton's senior vice president of development for Europe and Africa, said: "Following the success of our first Hilton Garden Inn, we are delighted to have confirmed our second site in Luton, a location which is set to benefit from a major regeneration scheme and boasts the UK's fastest growing airport."

It is thought that the new hotel will create around 70 new employment opportunities and could encourage more business workers to fly from Luton Airport.

The hotel will boast a 200-space car park, five meeting spaces and one function room.

According to Hilton, the move is part of a deal with the Ability Group.

Luton Airport recently advertised a family holiday in Menorca for £204 per person, including return flights with Thomson, self-catered accommodation and transfers.
