Low-cost carrier Monarch saw a rise in passenger numbers in October.
According to the airline, it noted an 82 per cent average load factor for October departures from the UK, a 0.86 per cent increase on October 2008 figures.
The carrier operates at a number of UK airports, including Gatwick, Birmingham, Luton and Manchester.
Liz Savage, managing director of Monarch Flights and Holidays, said: "Our new services to the Canary Islands of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria have been very well-received and their addition strengthens Monarch's flying programme to the islands."
She added that 46 flights per week will link the Canaries with the UK during the airline's winter schedule.
Monarch recently announced its new routes to the islands, bringing in 3,500 passengers during half-term alone.
Customers flying with the carrier can take advantage of its web check-in service, which allows travellers to print their tickets from seven days to four and a half hours before take-off.
The airline is currently offering flights from the UK to Portugal's Faro Airport for £40 in January 2010.
