Cornwall has been awarded a reputable tourism industry award.
The region was named best UK holiday destination at the 2009 British Travel Awards, a fact that could boost operations at Newquay Cornwall Airport.
Passengers wishing to visit Cornwall have been urged by local airline Air Southwest to take advantage of summer 2010 prices before they rise.
Flights from Cornwall with the carrier start at £29 and link the region with Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Glasgow and London Gatwick airports.
Mike Coombes, Air Southwest commercial director, said: "The ease of getting [to Cornwall] by air without the need to endure traffic jams and long rail journeys is undoubtedly helping the county to appeal to a wider range of visitors and we're looking forward to a busy summer."
Cornwall is well known for its surfing holidays since Newquay offers some of the best waves in the UK, but it also boasts the National Maritime Museum and the Eden Project.
Air Southwest also operates from Plymouth and Bristol International airports.
