Jet Airways begins SMS fare update service
By James Wilson.
Jet Airways has introduced a new SMS update service across its network, it has announced.
The low-cost airline based in India yesterday (12th November) confirmed it will now allow passengers to access cheap fares via their mobile phones for last-minute travel.
It already offers real-time flight updates and prior check-in via SMS.
Customers can send a request to the carrier for a list of its lowest fares ordered by date or sector.
Sudheer Raghavan, Jet Airways chief commercial officer, said: "This initiative is designed to seamlessly offer guests information on the lowest possible fares at that moment.
"We are confident that it will be popular with our travellers and encourage more people to book their fares online at jetairways.com."
Jet Airways links London Heathrow Airport with a number of international locations, including New York, Toronto, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu, Dhaka, Doha, Dubai and Bahrain.
Its network consists of 86 aircraft, the majority of which are next generation Boeing 737-700, 800 and 900s.
