Virgin Atlantic revealed a new clubhouse and spa at London Gatwick Airport yesterday (November 23rd).

The facility covers a total of 795 square metres and features luxury seating for 130 passengers, a restaurant, bar, family lounge and business area.

Upper Class and Gold Card travellers are entitled to use the new clubhouse and its adjoined cowshed spa and internal rock garden.

Steve Ridgway, Virgin Atlantic chief executive, said: "Our award-winning Clubhouses have always led the industry by offering luxury and innovation, and now we have introduced some of the best elements of our flagship Heathrow clubhouse, such as the luxurious cowshed spa, at Gatwick."

The facility was designed by London architectural firm FDArchitecture in conjunction with Virgin Atlantics in-house design team.

According to the airline, its site waste management programme slashed construction waste by 40 per cent through the use of prefabricated furniture and fittings.

There are also waiter points at the bar and in the snug area, ensuring passengers can order food and drink quickly and easily.

Virgin Atlantic offers a number of flights from London Gatwick to international travel hubs such as New York, Orlando, St Lucia and Barbados.
