Ryanair to launch new services in 2010
By Nick Jones.
Ryanair has announced it will begin new routes from Bristol, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh in 2010.
According to the carrier, it will add three new aircraft to its operations in order to offer services from Bristol to Faro, Palma, Gdansk, Treviso and Valencia, Liverpool to Lodz, Rimini and Trapani, Edinburgh to Tampere and Glasgow to Carcassone.
The new routes are expected to begin on March 28th 2010, while the frequency of some existing services from Bristol and Liverpool will also increase.
It expects the added flights to carry 400,000 more passengers and create around 400 jobs.
Chief executive Stephen McNamara said the services would ensure "increased competition and choice for consumers".
Mr McNamara also announced that the airline plans to extend its 500,000 £1 Christmas seat sale.
In related news, the company recently released its Cabin Crew Charity Calendar 2010, which it hopes will raise some 110,000 (£99,000) for children's charity Kids.
