Ryanair has announced plans to add routes and increase the frequency of existing routes from one of its Italian bases.
The carrier has revealed it plans to add a new aircraft, a new service to Malaga and extra flights to London Stansted and Ibiza from Bologna from March 2010.
It expects to serve some 1.5 million passengers per year from the air base, as well as sustaining around 1,500 local jobs.
Services from Bologna to Seville and Bratislava are set to continue through the winter season.
Luis Fernandez of Ryanair said: "Ryanair is delighted to announce one new aircraft and one new route from Bologna to Malaga from March, which will allow Ryanair to deliver more low fares, competition and choice to even more Italian consumers."
Mr Fernandez added that the carrier is now offering 250,000 2 (£1.80) seats for travel on 500 routes in December.
Flights from Bologna to London Stansted will increase to a total of 11 per week on March 29th until September 2010, while services to Ibiza will be boosted to four per week.
In related news, rival airline Flybe recently announced it will launch new flights from Bristol International Airport to the Isle of Man, starting on March 30th.
