Liverpool Airport extension to be headed by McLaren

Liverpool John Lennon Airport will be expanded next month in a multi-million pound plan.
The £6 million contract will see new retail space and added baggage handling facilities added to the existing airport building at Liverpool.
McLaren Construction will be the main contractor for the expansion, adding 80,000 square feet of space to the airport.
McLaren chairman Kevin Taylor commented: "The extension to Liverpool John Lennon is a prestigious scheme and we look forward to building this major project, which will make a huge difference for the millions of passengers who use the airport every year."
The extension has been designed by Manchester architect Leach Rhodes Walker.
In related news, easyJet recently announced it plans to launch a route from Liverpool Airport to Malta as part of its summer 2010 schedule.
The twice-weekly service will begin operation on June 13th, bringing the carrier's total number of routes at the airport to 24.
