Ryanair announces New Year ticket sale
By Jeremy Price.
Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced new discounted ticket prices for travel in late December, January and February from its UK airports.
Customers can purchase tickets from London Stansted, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle and other airports to destinations such as Aarhus, Krakow, Alghero, Turin and Zadar.
Available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the £5 tickets are on sale now until 24:00 GMT on Thursday (December 10th) and apply to travel between December 22nd and February 12th.
Customers wishing to avoid discretionary fees must pay by Visa Electron or MasterCard, travel with hand luggage only and opt out of priority boarding.
Ryanair chief executive Stephen McNamara said: "To help passengers kick off the New Year in style we now release 500,000 £5 seats for travel on over 500 European destinations."
"Only Ryanair sells Europe's lowest fares with a no fuel surcharge guarantee," he added.
In related news, the airline recently announced it is selling Christmas gift vouchers during the festive period.
Starting at 25 (£22.70), the vouchers can be bought online and allow the recipient to choose from almost 1,000 routes.
