EasyJet to launch 36 European flights in 2010
By Jeremy Price.
Low-cost airline easyJet has announced plans to expand its services across Europe in 2010.
According to the carrier, it will launch 36 new routes, making it the largest operator in the north of England.
A new aircraft will offer flights from Manchester Airport to Sharm El Sheikh, Menorca and Zurich, while easyJet will add Doncaster Sheffield Airport to its roster with five new routes to Faro, Barcelona, Palma, Prague and Amsterdam.
One-way fares begin at £24.99, while return tickets cost up to £110.81.
Paul Simmons, easyJet UK regional general manager, commented: "EasyJet is committed to expansion across the UK regions, tapping in to new catchment areas such as Yorkshire and Humberside and providing greater access to our famously low fares and convenient services from your local airport."
Other new services include Bristol International Airport to Paphos and Tenerife, Edinburgh to Lisbon, Liverpool to Rhodes and Manchester to Split.
Once the new services are in place, 40 per cent of its network operating outside London will be serving the north of England.
In other news, the carrier announced yesterday (December 10th) it will operate a service from London Gatwick to Bordeaux from March 28th 2010.
