A new service from Devon will link the UK with an Egyptian scuba diving haven.
Run by Thomson Airways on behalf of Thomson and First Choice, the service will run from Exeter International Airport to Sharm El Sheikh in 2010, BBC News reports.
The flights will run between November 2010 and April 2011, the carrier reports, while the frequency of the services to the Red Sea resort is yet to be confirmed.
Sharm El Sheikh boasts hot weather and stunning natural beauty, making it a popular retreat among scuba divers and holidaymakers alike.
The managing director of Exeter Airport recently claimed that restricting the growth of the airport could have a major impact on the local economy.
According to Jamie Christon, airports in remote areas such as Devon are vital for business and reduce the total mileage covered in cars.
His comments followed a Committee on Climate Change UK decision that airports must be restricted in order to maintain government promises on carbon emissions.
