Low-cost carrier easyJet was forced to cancel all of its flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport yesterday (January 6th) due to adverse weather conditions.
According to the Liverpool Post, the airline made the decision after snow and ice made it hard for aircraft at the facility to operate safely.
A statement from easyJet apologised to all affected passengers and said that those who do not travel will be entitled to a full refund.
It continued: "Unfortunately ground services at the airport have not been in a position to safely de-ice our aircraft due to the lack of supplies of de-icing fluid, and accumulation of ice around the aircraft preventing ground staff from working."
Travellers who missed out also have the option of changing their flight to an alternate day on the carrier's website free of charge.
Passengers scheduled to travel from the airport today (January 7th) have been advised to contact their airline directly for details of potential delays.
