Carrier and package holiday operator Thomas Cook will introduce new routes at Aberdeen Airport, it has announced.
The airline is set to add six new destinations to its roster in order to cover those lost when Scottish operator Flyglobespan went into administration in late 2009.
Thomas Cook hopes to offer routes to Ibiza, Majorca, Palma, Reus, Dalaman and Antalya from Aberdeen Airport.
Flyglobespan administrators will attempt to have E-Clear, the airline's credit card payment firm, put into administration today (January 13th) at the High Court in London after it emerged that it owed the carrier about £35 million.
Some 4,500 people were unable to return home due to the collapse of the airline and hundreds of jobs were lost in the UK and abroad.
Stranded passengers can arrange to fly home at the expense of the Civil Aviation Authority and are advised to consult Air Travel Organisers' Licensing for more information.
