Thomas Cook introduces online check-in at Belfast AirportBy Nick Jones.

Travel company Thomas Cook has become the first charter airline to offer an internet check-in service for passengers travelling from Belfast International Airport.

Following the introduction of the service at London Stansted Airport last week, the online method introduced at Belfast allows travellers to avoid the hassle of queuing at the airport by checking in online before arriving.

Customers are able to print their boarding cards at home up to seven days before travelling and can leave their luggage at designated Thomas Cook bag drop desks at Belfast International Airport.

Joanna Wild, director of customer services at Thomas Cook Airlines, said: "We're always looking at ways that we can give our holidaymakers more control over their booking and this innovation gives people the freedom to chose where they sit as well as making the airport experience a quick and easy one."

Ms Wild added the company is proud to be the first to bring the service into action for charter passengers at Belfast International Airport and hopes to roll it out to its full flying programme in the near future.

Thomas Cook also offers the service to passengers travelling from Bristol International, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle and London Gatwick airports.
