Bmi and Austrian Airlines offer extra London-Vienna service
By Jeremy Price.
Bmi has announced it will incorporate Vienna into its roster of flights operating from London Heathrow Airport.
The carrier is to team up with Star Alliance partner Austrian Airlines, which already runs four flights per week to the destination, to add an extra flight between the two cities.
Both airlines are set to market the route and sell tickets for the flights through their own channels.
The airlines stated: "London Heathrow Airport is the most important hub of bmi, from where the group will be able to offer new and attractive connections to Britain and around the world.
It added that customers will also benefit from transfers into the east European network.
Flights from London Heathrow to Vienna will run at 06:05, 09:25, 13:45, 16:35 and 19:25 GMT every day, the group notes.
Seats can be booked online via the Austrian Airlines website or by contacting the carrier on its booking hotline.
The Star Alliance includes a number of well-known airlines from across the world, including Continental Airlines, Egyptair, Lufthansa, United and Us Airways, Swiss and Air India, operating almost 4,000 aircraft.
