China Airlines to launch London Heathrow to Taipei link
By James Wilson.
China Airlines has announced plans to launch flights from the UK to Taiwan.
The carrier, which operates routes worldwide, plans to begin a direct service from London Heathrow Airport to Taipei for the first time.
Leaving the airport's terminal four building from March 28th this year, the flights are expected to run three times a week from £585 return.
The route will make it easier for passengers travelling to Taiwan to get there without transfers and will offer 246 economy seats and 30 business seats.
Travellers previously had to change aircraft at Amsterdam in order to fly from the UK to Taiwan with China Airlines.
According to the airline, the services will leave London Heathrow Airport at 21:15 GMT on Tuesdays and Sundays and 22:05 GMT on Thursdays, arriving at Tayoyuan International Airport around 21 hours later.
China Airlines currently has a fleet of 66 aircraft that provide links between 84 cities in 27 countries, as of December 2009.
