Travel writer launches guide to Leeds

A well-known travel writer has launched a new website designed to inform visitors of the "hidden gems" of the city of Leeds.

Travellers flying into Leeds Bradford Airport could be interested in the news that Darren Cronian of Travel-Rants.com has announced the opening of MyLifeInLeeds.co.uk, a blog about the city written by locals.

It aims to provide up-to-date and impartial tourist information for individuals visiting Leeds for the first time.

Mr Cronian's TravelRants.com website has proven popular since it was set up four years ago and has since been nominated for a Lonely Planet award.

He commented: "It's something many tourists and business travellers are looking for - a local guide who knows the in-places, the hidden gems, the things to see and do, plus those things to give a miss."

The travel writer added that there is currently no single guide to Leeds that is regularly updated and professionally written.

Low-cost carrier Ryanair is to open a new base at Leeds Bradford Airport in March, as well as increasing the frequency of a number of services.
