Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced new flights from eastern Europe to London Luton Airport.
According to the carrier, it will enter the market in Serbia by launching new flights from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport to London and Dortmund this summer.
Flying from Belgrade three times a week from July 24th, the flights will have promotional fares that start from 24.99 (£21.92) one way.
Wizz Air chief commercial officer Gyorgy Abran commented that the
airline has shown its commitment to Europe by opening new routes and bases of operation.
"We look forward to working together with all parties to address the regulatory constraints and the cost of logistics in order to unleash the full growth potential Wizz could deliver," he added.
The airline also revealed that it is collaborating with Serbia's ministry of economy and regional development and its tourist organisation to bring more foreign visitors into the country in order to boost its reputation as a hospitable holiday retreat.
The first Wizz Air flight took off from Katowice in May 19th 2004 and since then the company has expanded its operations to 11 European airports.
