Low-cost airline Flybe has announced the launch of new flights linking Edinburgh Airport with Kent.
The carrier notes that the 80-minute route will be operated on a daily basis by a 78-seat Bombardier Q-400 turboprop aircraft between May 27th and October 30th.
Starting at £24.99 one-way including tax and surcharges, the route will be the first scheduled service out of Kent International Airport.
Flybe chief commercial officer Mike Rutter told BBC News: "We're delighted to be adding this new service to the south-east.
"It also reflects our commitment to continued growth from our Edinburgh base and also to our development into new regions."
The airline expects the service to be popular among business travellers and individuals taking weekend breaks in Scotland.
In related news, easyJet has announced it will begin offering flights between Liverpool John Lennon Airport and the Isle of Man from May 21st.
According to the company, the route will serve around 70,000 passengers during its first year.
