Passenger numbers falling at Robin Hood Airport

Passenger volumes at Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport last month fell to their lowest level since 2005, it has been reported.
The third consecutive monthly drop saw 36,772 travellers use the Finningley facility in January, 1,000 less than the previous month and 15,000 less than in January 2009, Doncaster Today reports.
Bosses expect numbers to rise by some 40 per cent over the coming year as new easyJet services to Europe and Aer Lingus services to New York begin.
Aviation sales director Nick Smillie told the newspaper: "We have spent the last year getting the leading low-cost carriers to replace the lost services."
The airport currently offers flights to 40 destinations across the world.
In related news, a man was charged over allegedly communicating a bomb hoax earlier this month after he posted what Police deemed a menacing message on social network Twitter.
Paul Chambers, 26, was arrested after he threatened to blow up the airport following its closure due to severe weather conditions.
