Individuals have been encouraged to submit photos of Greater Manchester in part of a revamping of Manchester Airport's terminal one arrivals.
Bosses are hoping to give travellers arriving at the hub an idea of life in the city and the initiative could be rolled out to terminal two and three if successful.
Photographers can upload their snaps to the Manchester Airport Flickr group for consideration until 12:00 GMT on March 19th.
Sarah Barrett, head of customer experience at Manchester Airport, commented that the initiative is part of a wider aim to provide "a world class experience" for customers at the airport.
"As the gateway to the region we also want visitors to experience the friendly welcome that the North is traditionally famous for," she added.
Winning photos will be displayed at arrivals in terminal one in summer 2010, while a select few will be enlarged to a floor to ceiling size.
The competition is taking place in collaboration with BBC Radio Manchester.
