Passengers have been arriving at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield following the re-launch of a popular route to Wroclaw.
Operated by Wizz Air, the flights began on March 12th as the carrier opened its 12th operating base in the Polish city.
The route will run twice a week and could provide "a gateway" for Polish visitors coming to the UK, according to Robin Hood Airport marketing and communications manager Jodi Stow.
Colin Joy, Doncaster Tourism manager, said: "It is a great opportunity to further boost the growing visitor economy and show off the history and beautiful countryside in and around Doncaster."
"The Polish community in Doncaster has a long history and this new flight strengthens those links," he added.
The first travellers to arrive in south Yorkshire were treated to authentic Polish cuisine courtesy of local restaurant Kuchnia Polska, while staff at the airport are also brushing up on their foreign language skills in order to welcome the visitors.
Wizz Air is currently offering flights from the UK to Warsaw and Gdansk, with prices beginning at 17.99 (£16).
