Individuals travelling from Bristol International Airport during the Easter school holidays should be sure to arrive in good time, it has been said.
According to airport bosses, some 66,000 people were set to travel from the hub over the weekend (April 2nd - 5th), making it much busier than the same time in 2009.
Passengers are able to check in up to three hours before their flight is scheduled to take off and should ensure they set enough time aside to pass through security checks.
Shaun Browne, aviation director at Bristol Airport, said that families and large groups should be particularly careful to arrive ahead of time.
"Leaving it to the last minute might mean an extra hour in bed, but it could also be the difference between a great start to the Easter break and the disappointment of missing your flight," he said.
Bristol International Airport is celebrating its 80th anniversary next month (May) and is expected to serve its 50 millionth passenger this year.
There are six self-service check-in kiosks at the airport, operated by Air Southwest, KLM, Air France and OLT.
