Spanish carrier Vueling is set to launch flights from Edinburgh Airport to Barcelona this summer, it has confirmed.
According to the airline, the service will commence on June 24th, running on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
It will leave the Scottish city at 13:50 GMT and is expected to operate until September 12th.
Alex Cruz, chief executive officer of Vueling, said: "Barcelona and Edinburgh have strong links and we are confident our flights will be appreciated by business people and leisure travellers alike."
The carrier already offers flights from London Heathrow to La Coruna, Bilbao and Brazil.
According to the company, the prices have been set at a reasonable level and include all tax and surcharges.
The new route will allow passengers to travel directly to Barcelona from Edinburgh for the first time since Flyglobespan went into administration in December 2009.
Vueling also operates flights from Moscow, Dubrovnik, Istanbul, Milan, Munich and Paris.
