A new luxury retail outlet has opened at London Heathrow Airport, it has been reported.

Collaborating with travel retail company Aelia and BAA, Longchamp opened its first boutique at the airport's Terminal 1 building on Friday (April 9th).

The 60 sq m store offers luxury leather goods such as the new Kate Moss of Longchamp collection, as well as accessories and travel items.

Longchamp chief executive Jean Cassegrain told the Moodie Report: "Heathrow is one of the largest airports in Europe and it's very important for us to be well-represented.

"We are also very pleased that Aelia trusted us with their first BAA venture in the UK."

The French company now has 130 stand-alone boutiques and 2,000 multi-brand stores in over 100 countries worldwide.

Meanwhile, an £800 million contract to construct a Terminal 2 building at London Heathrow Airport was confirmed last month - a facility the airport claims will be one of most modern in the world upon completion.
