Passengers flying into Bristol International Airport this week could enjoy a number of events and special offers.

Destination Bristol reports travelers can buy one night at selected Bristol hotels and get another free during the May bank holiday weekend, while various festivals, fayres and exhibitions are set to take place all over the city.

The Festival of Ideas runs across a number of venues for the whole of May, aiming to encourage discussion and debate among individuals, while Mayfest (May 7th to 22nd) offers professional theatrical performances.

Passengers with families could be interested in a permanent exhibition hosted by Aardman Animations called Animate It! at At-Bristol science and technology centre.

Bristol was recently named one of the ten must-see cities by DK Eyewitness Travel Guides.

Destination Bristol commented: "Come along and experience Bristol in person during the May bank holidays.

"Bristol is the UK's most vibrant city and is absolutely packed with exciting things to do and relaxing places to stay."

The city's airport celebrated the tenth anniversary of its terminal building last month (March) with a ceremony that unveiled its new brand, focusing on 'people', 'place' and 'region'.
