Franchise supports new Cork-Glasgow routeBy Jeremy Price.

A new flight route between Cork and Glasgow Airport launched last month (March 28th).

Operated under a franchise agreement between Aer Lingus and Aer Arann, the service runs six times per week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Kevin Cullinane, aviation marketing manager at Cork Airport, said: "Aer Arann and Aer Lingus are not only enhancing their quality service offering from Cork Airport, but also offering our business and leisure customers improved schedule and frequency options on existing routes."

He added the flights will "reconnect these two city regions for the busy summer season ahead".

On top of this, the franchise agreement also sees new routes flying from Cork to Bristol, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Jersey and La Rochelle.

All flights are served by an Aer Lingus Regional branded ATR 72-500 aircraft and Aer Arann crew.

Aer Lingus also offers flights to European destinations such as Barcelona, Berlin, Rome, Vienna, Milan, Nice and Munich.
