Over 70 Yorkshire businesses have signed a pledge to support Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
Firms in the region have committed to helping the travel hub by opting to fly local when their operations require travel abroad.
The news comes after the airport announced new routes to key cities that could appeal to businesses travellers, such as Barcelona, Amsterdam, Prague, Dublin and Belfast City.
Nick Smillie, aviation sales director at Robin Hood Airport, said: "We will be working closely with businesses to find out their needs and the routes they currently use in a bid to prove demand.
"This information is invaluable when speaking to the airlines about new services."
First to sign the pledge were Sheffield United, Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield Forgemasters, Pegler Yorkshire and Polypipe.
Airlines offering the new services include Wizz Air, Aer Lingus, Flybe and EasyJet.
In related news, EasyJet launched five new routes from Doncaster Sheffield Airport to Amsterdam, Prague, Faro, Majorca and Barcelona on April 22nd, after they were delayed due to airspace restrictions caused by the volcanic eruption in Iceland.
